Katie is a canfitpro certified personal trainer and she currently owns and operates a personal fitness training gym. Katie started her personal training business in 1997 after working for numerous years in fitness.
Katie has a B-PhEd from Brock University, Katie is certified through CanFitPro (Canadian Fitness Professionals) which requires continuing education and annual re-certification. Katie instructed fitness theory (biology, anatomy, etc) at Seneca College, and has been certified through The American Council on Exercise from 1993 - 2007. Katie is certified through the 3M National Coaching Certification Program. She was certified as a Professional Fitness & Lifestyle Consultant through York University as established by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology - National Committee on Fitness Appraisal Certification and Accreditation (FACA) as well as holding a certification with the Canadian Association of Sport Sciences (CFA) as established by the CASS/ACSS - committee on Fitness Certification and Accreditation 1998 - 2006.

Katie's continuing education includes Certification through Reebok to teach STEP, Certification through the Canadian Fitness Council, Canadian Aerobic Instructor Network Certification, Nordic Walking Group Leader Certification with the Canadian Nordic Walking Association, Kardio-Karate Kickboxing Certification as well as a Level IV Touch For Health Certificate issued by the Canadian Association of Specialized Kinesiology- to list some of many qualifications she has earned.

Katie has received numerous awards for her work in the fitness industry including recognition from the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation as an advisory committee member for the 'Miracles in Motion' fundraisers. Katie held similar roles and received awards as coordinator of the Terry Fox Run/Walkathon, Day event Coordinator of The Persechini Easter Seal Run, Co-organizer of the Heart and Stroke Aerobatics and she continues to donate her time to the MS Society, receiving a 10 year recognition award in 2010.

Chris works as a Personal Trainer at Katie Stoyles' private training studio. She has been involved her entire life in competitive sports as well as working in a coaching capacity. She has worked with clients aged 9 to 83 years old and enjoys helping people reach their goals.


Tracey Taylor

Tracey works as a Personal Trainer at Katie Stoyles' private training studio. She is currently working towards a certification in Pre & Post Natal as a Personal Trainer.


Deanne Grove CHRL, CMP

Deanne is a third-degree Karate black belt, a certified coach (NCCP) and mentor to successful black belt candidates. Deanne has instructed individuals and groups from 6 to 70+ years of age. 

Helping others develop healthy bodies and minds is her passion. She has designed and delivered self-defense programs for schools and associations (Girls Inc. and York Region) and has been a karate instructor for over 20 years. Deanne participated in The Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer, riding her bicycle from Toronto to Niagara Falls raising over $15,000 in the 3 years she participated.

Deanne is a certified Trainer and Adult Educator (Brock University and Seneca College) with over 20 years’ experience in the corporate sector. She holds numerous professional certifications including the Multi-Health Systems Emotional Intelligence EQ-I 2.0 and EQ 360 assessments, HR Law Certification, the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) 360 assessment (The Leadership Challenge ™), Brantas Performance Inc. psychometric assessment, and is a qualified Change Management Practitioner (CMP) and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).


Jim Thomson BA, PCSC, CHRE, CD

Jim has always been actively involved in sports and fitness – as a player, referee and coach. Today he still maintains a rigorous athletic regimen that includes ice hockey, biking, hiking, skating, weight and cardio training, and golf.

While attending the Royal Military College of Canada, he learned a wide array of athletics from rugby to water polo, boxing to squash, and more. In his senior year, as Cadet Wing Sports Officer, he was responsible for the intra-mural Athletics Program for 500 cadets.

During his service in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Jim competed in hockey and soccer at the national level. He also taught skating and coached hockey and soccer to children and became a certified coach (NCCP). After transitioning to the business world, he continued this volunteer work as a coach and referee for children’s hockey and soccer programs in his community.

Jim’s expertise as a teacher extends to other areas. His primary roles in the RCAF were as a flying instructor, fighter weapons instructor, and leadership instructor. He holds numerous certifications associated with adult training and professional development and is a Certified Human Resources Executive.
